ArtC with Bill Horin was joined on the October 28th show by artist/consultant Mark Barone and Atlantic City Director of Planning and Developmen Elizabeth Terenik.
Mark has been an artist for over 35 years and in addition to his art career, Mark is the CEO of “ArtSmartCities” and a national award winning Consultant to cities across America, showing them how to use the arts to revitalize blighted neighborhoods, and is known for his successful creation and implementation of the “Paducah Artist Relocation Program,” in Paducah, Kentucky. Since 2011 he and his wife Marina Dervan have run An Act of Dog, an organization dedicated to raising awareness to the plight of sheltered dogs.
Elizabeth Terenik was hired in March 2014 to lead Atlantic City’s Planning and Development Department. Ms. Terenik comes to the City with more than 20 years of professional planning experience, most recently as a consultant to both local governments and the development community. Previously, she served as director of planning and engineering for the City of Ocean City, NJ, and as planner for several Cape May County municipalities and the Atlantic County Utilities Authority. She also has experience as a zoning and code enforcement officer.
