It’s been awhile since my last blog. I’m told that’s not good. I and ArtC have, however, been very busy working on new projects. That is good.
First, we have a new feature article coming out this month in New Jersey Lifestyle Magazine. It’s on North Cape May artist Victor Grasso, written by ArtC’s Sal Emma and photographed by ArtC’s newest staff member, Frank Weiss. Frank will officially be listed on our site later this week; we just need to get a photo of him that’s as nerdy as the rest of ours.
Frank, writer Sterling Brown and I are also finishing a video feature on Atlantic City stained glass artist Aleksandra Puzyn (pictured below). She has been restoring the windows of an old church in Atlantic City for the last four years while continuing to create her own art. Great story and Frank’s video work is amazing.
I am currently editing an interview we did last week with Jeremy Sunkett (pictured below), former Director of Project Management for Atlantic City’s Casino Reinvestment and Development Authority (CRDA). We had some questions about the status of the proposed Atlantic City Arts District and Jeremy graciously sat down with Sal Emma shortly before leaving the CRDA, to try to answer them. The video interview will be posted to this blog early next week.
And next Saturday (October 15th) is the opening reception for an ArtC curated exhibit at the William Ris Gallery in Stone Harbor. It’s called ‘W3’ and features the photography of Frank Weiss (yes, the same one), Bill West and Liz Wuillermin. Reception is from 5 to 8 pm and music will be provided by Jeff Schwachter and Tamara deMent. It’s open to the public, so please feel free to stop by. Photos below by Liz Wuillermin.
With the help of the Noyes Museum of Art’s Jillian Schratz, we are also working on an updated list of artists for our directory, a list of performing arts organizations and more arts centers.Told you we were busy. Thanks for listening.
